It's the end of the world as we know it. Or is it?
So I'm sure all of you have heard of the theories of the end of the world. The question that remains in the back of all our minds is, are they true or just the product of human imagination. I have read alot of the Nostrodomus predictions, most of them are just dribble and cryptic. I have read revelations in the bible, and even though I don't believe that the bible has much useful material, I think that there is some interesting things in it. The Mayan calender ends on December 21, 2012 and most people think that this date is when the world will end. How do we know, maybe they just got bored with continuing the calender for over a thousand years and said "that's enough." What about the scientific explanation about the alignment of the planets to a certain point in our galaxy that only happens once in 54,000 years. This explanation dictates that the polarity of the earth will be reversed, possible making all of our electronics useless. If this happens then it is possible that the Nostrodomus prediction of man going back to sticks and stones could be fulfilled. All of these theories and predictions are fun to entertain and even for some of us exciting, there is still the theory that aliens will come to our aid in the waning years of the earths life. Though this theory sounds like a bunch of bullshit to some people, it is the same as all the others. Truth is, we don't know if any of this is going to happen, if at all. I however would like to hear what everyone thinks on this subject and for people who want a challenge here is the test on your observational skills. Watch the movie "Knowing" with Nick Cage and tell me what the underlying message is in that movie. I will give you a hint, it's a theory that is well known to a select group of people, and the movie secretly gives hints to an actual theory. If you figure it out then you are well versed and open minded. If not then don't worry cuz your safe in your little box.

I think the theory of the world ending is pretty much horseshit. I also dont believe in aliens so in my opinion that gets thrown out too. Your blog is awesome though. I totally agree that no one knows what the hell will happen. People need to shut the fuck up and wait for something to happen.
ReplyDeleteI agree with your thoughts. Who can say the world will end on that specific date. MAybe the Mayans did just decide to quit marking the calendar at that specific date. Who is to say that this will for sure happen. Lets look back at Y2K, wasn't that date, all the computers were supposed to crash. Who is to say that life of what we know will end because of a scientic math problem.
ReplyDeleteI honestly could care less if the world ends tommorow, or in 2 years. why should one stop being themselves for something unavoidable. Just keep trucking.
ReplyDeleteI am agreeing with you to an extent... I think that no one truly knows when the world is going to end and when it happens, it happens. We can't do anything to make it change anyways. There have been so many scares that have happened in the past and I think that people need to stop trying to control everything and let the world take its course. Worrying about it does not make it any better and God will take care of it in His own timing. I think that the book of Revelations is the key.
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid that too many people are spending all of their energy worrying about the future and not concentrating on how to make today count.
ReplyDeleteThoughtful blog, Derick.
